Job Description
About this role
Omnicom Media is one of Australia's most recognised media networks, home to some of the sharpest minds and most respected agencies in the industry. We have a clear and unapologetic ambition: to be the place where the best careers in media are built. Not just claimed. Actually built.
The foundation is already there. We have learning budget, executive commitment from the CEO down, existing content, strong agency brands, and a people team that genuinely gives a damn. What we need now is the person to take all of that and make it unmissable.
This is a senior, high-impact role sitting at the heart of our people function, reporting directly to the Chief Talent & Experience Officer. As Learning & Experience Director, you'll own the full learning and employee experience agenda across Omnicom Media Group, designing and delivering a strategy that closes capability gaps, builds leadership confidence, and creates an employee experience people actually feel every day.
This is not a policy role or a governance role. It's a builder role. You'll shape what learning looks like at OM, make it visible, make it land, and make people better at their jobs because of it. You'll have a team behind you, real stakeholder access, and the autonomy to do this properly.
If you've been waiting for a role that gives you the scope to do your best work in L&D, this is it.
What you'll do
You're walking into a business with real learning budget, genuine executive buy-in, and a library of existing content that just needs someone to own it. Your first job is to understand what we have, what's working, and what's been sitting in a folder gathering dust. From there, you'll build a learning strategy that actually maps to how this business operates and where it needs to go.
You'll work closely with our Chief Talent & Experience Officer to decide what we create, what we buy, and what already exists and just needs a new set of hands to make it relevant again. Then you'll make sure people across the group actually know it's there and want to use it.
In practice, that looks like:
- Owning the full learning calendar across internal programs, LinkedIn Learning, self-guided pathways, external training through media partners, NGEN, and MFA
- Auditing existing content and revamping what deserves a second life in formats that land with modern, time-poor agency teams
- Building and managing an LMS that gives our learning offer a proper home and makes it visible to the whole business
- Getting in the room and facilitating. You'll deliver programs on people management, feedback conversations, and leadership effectiveness yourself
- Overseeing a dedicated Microsoft Office trainer who sits in your team and handles practical skills delivery across the group
- Designing and running leadership and management development programs that build real confidence in performance conversations, coaching, and team effectiveness
- Leading the employee experience across the full lifecycle, from onboarding through to exit, including mentorship programs, Pitch Off, and DE&I experiences
- Using employee feedback, survey data, and business insights to keep sharpening priorities and solving real problems
- Building clearer, more consistent career pathways across the group so people can see where they're headed and what getting there looks like
- Leading an L&D team and working closely with the Talent Experience Business Partner to make sure programs land at scale, not just on paper
This isn't about running a workshop once a year. It's about changing how the business thinks about learning and making career growth something people can actually see and feel every day.
Who you are
- You've led or built L&D initiatives and have experience designing and delivering training that lands
- You're a confident facilitator who is comfortable running sessions yourself
- You focus on outcomes, not activity - stronger managers, better teams, clearer progression
- You're decisive and able to prioritise without overcomplicating things
- You bring structure to ambiguity and are comfortable building while delivering
- You're credible with senior stakeholders and can influence direction when needed
